Conclusion

For many riders getting a mountain bike is out of their price range, but with the Swifty Electric Mountain bike it offers a more affordable version and a good introduction to mountain bikes at a lower price level. It looks like a mountain bike with front suspension and 27.5” wheels with chunky tires, and the box with the battery to provide the pedal assist when you need it.

Motor, Battery & Range

This e-bike comes with a Panasonic 36V 9.6Ah Lithium-ion battery that can give enough power to support a majority of riders, the range does boast 30 miles from a fully charged battery that can get up to 100% in just 3 hours but be mindful of the types of terrain you are using it on, as with any e-bike if you are going up steep hills then the range will drop. There are 3 levels of assist and also a walking mode which engages the motor from a standing start and you can alter the modes via the controller on the handlebars.

Quality & Build

The frame of the bike itself has a good design and really looks like a mountain bike, if you removed the box for the battery you wouldn’t know any difference but of course, that has to stay in place. There is a Shimano 7-speed gear shifter that allows you to find the perfect gear when you’re climbing steep hills or descending and with the disc brakes you have good stopping power if you find you are gaining speed too quickly or need to come to an abrupt stop.

Known Issues

Handlebar position isn’t ideal for mountain bike riders as it is low like a racing bike.

Potentially not great on tarmac as other reviewers have said they have seen the down-tube crack and tyres deflate even though it has double wall rims to prevent punctures.

Warranty & Customer Support

2 years manufacturers warranty on battery, motor and componentry included as standard (excluding tires and tubes) with dedicated support helpline for any issues.
